‘Add Money’ service now operational with 40 banks while ‘bKash to Bank’ with 11 banks

Staff Reporter, DHaka : Dhaka, 30th January, 2023: With the addition of Woori Bank Bangladesh and Citizens Bank PLC – over 65 million customers of bKash now can add money to their bKash account from the largest network of 40 commercial banks in the country. By adding the money to bKash from bank accounts, it becomes much easier for customers to do essential cashless transactions like send money, utility bill payment, merchant payment, mobile recharge, payment of school-college fees, e-ticketing, various online registration fee payment, savings, etc.

The process of adding money to bKash from Woori Bank and Citizens Bank is as simple as before. The ‘Add Money’ procedure is the same for both banks. First of all, customers registered to internet banking need to log in with the password. Then they can add own or loved one’s bKash number as a beneficiary. Once the beneficiary is added, they need to tap on ‘bKash’ icon from the ‘Wallet Transfer’ section of the ‘Transfer’ option in internet banking. Next, they need to fill in the necessary information such as bKash number, bank account number, amount of money, and then click on the ‘submit’ button. After entering the OTP and PIN number, the fund will be instantly transferred from the bank account to the bKash account.

After every successful transaction, the user will receive a notification via SMS. It should be noted that limit for fund transfer set by Bangladesh Bank will be applicable for both ‘Add Money’ and ‘bKash to Bank’ services.

Apart from ‘Add Money’ and ‘bKash to Bank’ services, bKash has also introduced a service to transfer funds to Visa Debit Card issued in Bangladesh. To avail that service, app users need to tap on ‘bKash to Bank’ icon and select ‘card option’. After that, they need to tap on Visa logo to enter the 16-digit Visa Debit Card number, type the amount of money, and then put the PIN number to complete the fund transfer. It may take maximum three working days to process the transfer.

The services like ‘Add Money’ and ‘bKash to Bank’ have made the two-way transaction between bKash and banks more convenient for the customers. They can now add money to bKash wallet or send it to bank account any time from any place avoiding the obligation of visiting designated bank branch within banking hour. If needed, they can also pay instalments of loans, savings, etc. using the ‘bKash to Bank’ service. As a result, customers now have more freedom and flexibility in their everyday transactions.
