Dhaka, April 12 : Country’s biggest Alpona festival, ‘Alponay Boishakh 1431’, a joint initiative by Asiatic Experiential Marketing Limited, Banglalink Digital Communications Limited, and Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, has begun! This unique celebration started at 4 pm today (April 12, 2024), with a 14km-long Alpona Drawing, from Mithamoin Zeropoint to Austagram Zeropoint, Kishoreganj. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology; Iresh Zaker, Group Managing Director of Asiatic 3Sixty; and Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer of Banglalink Digital Communications Limited will visit the Alpana of Mithamoin, on Pohela Boishakh (April 14, 2024), to celebrate and inspire the imdomitable spirit of setting this unique world-record.

This historic celebration of the Bengali New Year was officially announced through a Press Conference held on April 08, 2024.

This celebration will continue tomorrow (April 13), with Alpona Drawing beginning simultaneously in Shib Bari More, Khulna and Manik Mia Avenue, Dhaka. Hence, the charm of Pohela Boishakh is all set to spread across the country through colors, brushes and bristles, all along with an invinsible spirit of setting this momentous world record!

The first day of the festival in Mithamoin was graced by the presence of Rejwan Ahammad Taufiq, Member of the Parliament Kishoreganj-4; Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, Chairman of Asiatic 3Sixty; Md. Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited; Monzula Morshed, Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer of Banglalink Digital Communications Limited; Advocate Sharif Kamal, Chairman of Sadar Union Parishad, Mithamoin; Harun Or Rashid, Chief of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP); Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishoreganj; Mohammad Russell Sheikh, Superintendent of Police; Samir Kumar Boishnob, General Secretary, Upazila Awami Leauge, Mithamoin; Eminent artist Md. Muniruzzaman and  other dignitaries from the local community were also present.

Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, Honorable Speaker of Bangladesh National Parliament; Atiqul Islam, Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation; and Naheed Ezaher Khan, MP, State Minister for cultural affairs consented to attend the ‘Alponay Boishakh 1431’ event to be held in Dhaka. Besides, Asiatic 3Sixty Chairman Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, Co-Chairperson Sara Zaker, Group Managing Director Iresh Zaker, along with Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited Managing Director (MD) Rupali Chowdhury, Banglalink Digital Communications Limited Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman, will also be present there. Distinguished artist Md. Muniruzzaman and other eminent personnel of the country will also attend the event.

‘Alpanay Boishakh 1431’ is being organized for the eighth time with an aim to highlight the rich and vibrant Bengali culture on the world stage.
