STEAM Carnival to promote innovation by DPS STS Dhaka

Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Delhi Public School Dhaka has organized STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Carnival today at school’s Senior Campus to promote innovation and inspire curiosity. Students from Grades 5-12 got opportunity to exhibit their knowledge and skills in the fields of STEAM.

For the second time, this Carnival held with around 2,000 visitors. Apart from students of DPS STS, students from Singapore School Kinderland, The Aga Khan School, Dhaka, Chittagong Grammar School, Scholastica, and International Hope School Bangladesh also participated in the STEAM Carnival. The projects represented creativity, innovation, and a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

There were Astronomy projects, Physics projects, Technology-related projects such as self-driving cars, Chemistry and Biology projects, computer programming-related projects, Science and Geography-related projects such as Water Cycle, Volcano, and many other projects developed by the students under the guidance of their teachers.

To make the DPS STS STEAM Carnival more happening, a ‘Fun Fair’ event took place, featuring food stalls, games, projects, and more. DPS STS students also arranged exciting games and refreshments for the visitors.

Dr Shivananda CS, Principal of DPS STS Dhaka, said, “STEAM is a key component of modern education. Our student-led STEAM Carnival encourages STEAM education as well as fosters responsibility and a sense of collaboration. It was inspiring to see our young scientists presenting STEAM projects that they made themselves.”

In recent years, the School has been an active propagator of promoting STEAM education in the school. It is an educational approach to learning that utilizes Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics as access points to boost students’ learning outcomes and enhance their confidence levels in communication.
