Singer Bangladesh Embarks on a New Era “Transform for Growth”

March 21st, Dhaka : Singer Bangladesh Ltd., a subsidiary of Arcelik, flagship of Türkiye’s Koc Group, today revealed its new initiative as “Transform for Growth” with a press conference. The meeting saw the attendances of Mr. M.H.M. Fairoz, Managing Director and CEO at Singer Bangladesh Limited, Mr. Cemal Can Dinçer, Chief Commercial Officer Türkiye and Southern Asia at Arçelik, Mr. Özkan Çimen, Chief Financial Officer at Arçelik, Mr. Fatih Özkadı, Chief Sustainability, Quality, Customer Care Officer at Arçelik, Ms. Handan Abdurrahmanoğlu, Director of South Asia Regional Marketing, Business Transformation & Growth at Arcelik along with other officials from Arcelik and Singer Bangladesh.

Singer’s new initiative includes a series of transformations, including a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, one-of-its-kind Concept Store, and a workplace representing the company’s new vision. Singer Bangladesh aims to bring Koç Group and Arcelik’s global expertise and standards to Bangladesh and enhance the consumer experience, reaffirming Singer Bangladesh’s commitment to excellence.

Commenting on these transformative endeavors, Can Dinçer, Chief Commercial Officer Türkiye and Southern Asia at Arçelik said, “Singer Bangladesh has 118 years of history and the pioneer in consumer durables industry in the country. With a vision to make it the top brand in the country, we have been gradually transforming the business operation with some significant initiatives. The launch of ‘Transform for Growth’ marks a pivotal moment in Singer Bangladesh’s journey. The new concept store, new corporate office and our manufacturing plant investment are the strongest pillars of this transformation. We remain determined in our pursuit of innovation, customer satisfaction, and sustainable economic growth.”

He added: “We’ve been bringing our global expertise and standards to the market to contribute consumer durables industry and lives of Bangladeshi people. The new headquarters will facilitate our employees with Arçelik’s global workspace standards and amenities. Our concept stores have taken inspiration from award winning store design of Arcelik in İstanbul, Türkiye. We are adapting the best practices of our retail and commercial transformation journey of Türkiye to Bangladesh, and I am honored to accompany this new journey in Bangladesh. We target to increase the production capacity of Singer Bangladesh and position Bangladesh as a hub for the region in the medium and long term. We plan to export products from the factory to the countries in the region in the long term. We will continue investing in Singer Bangladesh in technology, our stores, and communications.”

The Managing Director & CEO of Singer Bangladesh Ltd. Mr. M.H.M. Fairoz said, “The economy is growing, lifestyle of our customers are changing with it. Singer Bangladesh has opened Bangladesh’s first concept store in the consumer durables industry located in Gulshan 1. Inspired from the design of Arcelik’s award-winning concept store in Istanbul, Türkiye, the store features curated experience zones showcasing a diverse range of products under the Singer and Beko brands (one of the top 3 brands in Europe*). The store offers an immersive retail experience where consumers can experience a product firsthand before making a purchase. It also features shop-in-shop approach for the very first time with Arçelik’s global brand Beko.
Singer’s new store’s design sets a new standard for retail spaces in Bangladesh, achieving a monumental success by redefining traditional retail norms and meeting global standards for customer engagement and product presentation. Singer will open more Singer | Beko concept stores in major urban areas and adapt the same design language in retail stores across Bangladesh in 2024.

Singer Bangladesh is relocating its corporate headquarter to Gulshan 2, Dhaka. Designed by esteemed Turkish architects, the new office will provide employees a world-class workspace experience with its amenities such as open workstation, collaboration zones, town hall area, product showroom, lunchroom, prayer room and socializing area; and encourage agile way of working, teamwork, collaboration, creativity, and forward-thinking. The headquarter embody Singer Bangladesh’s progressive ethos, laying the groundwork for continued success.

The conference also saw the announcement that Singer Bangladesh’s new manufacturing plant is ready to start production. Established with an investment of US$78 million from Arcelik, the new factory will create more than 4,000 employment opportunities and underscore the company’s commitment to local manufacturing. Singer Bangladesh aims to reduce dependence on imports and foster a robust local supplier ecosystem by focusing on manufacturing over 90% of products locally. Singer Bangladesh has been awarded with the LEED Gold certification for sustainability.
