Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Closing and Prize giving ceremony of Orion 36th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship– 2023 was held at Kurmitola Golf Club Banquet Hall, Dhaka Cantonment on 11 March 2023, Saturday. Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, BBP, BUP, nswc, fawc, psc distributed the prize among the winners of the tournament as the chief guest. Apart from Bangladesh, amateur golfers of the national golf teams of Nepal, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Srilanka and Australia participated in this four day long tournament.

In the Men’s team event, Nepal became Champion, while Bangladesh `B’ team became Runner Up. Besides, Arav D Shah of Australia became Champion while Subash Tamang of Nepal became Runner Up in the men’s individual event.

In the Ladies team event, Bangladesh Female Team `A’ became Champion while Pakistan Ladies Team became Runner Up. In the Ladies individual event Sainik Sonya Akhter of Bangladesh Army, Suneyah Osama of Pakistan and Sainik Nasima Akhter of Bangladesh Army secured First, Second and Third position respectively.

Among others, high military and civil officials, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Golf Federation Major General Md Zahirul Islam, Secretary General of Bangladesh Golf Federation Brigadier General Md Md Shawkat Osman, Managing Director of Orion Group Zareen Karim, Vice Chairman of Orion 36th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship 2023 Mr. Fariduddin Khan (Rumy), Tournament Director Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (Retired), Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Golf Federation Colonel Md Shahidul Haque (Retired) and Chief Coordinator of Bangladesh Golf Federation Lt Colonel Ahsan Aziz (Retired) were also present.
