Brand Practitioners’ Marketing Debate Fest 2.0 concluded

Staff Reporter, Dhaka : SMC Plus presents Inter-University Marketing Debate Fest 2.0 powered by ISPAHANI and WALTON ended up. The marketing debate fest is organized by Brand Practitioners Bangladesh. Chittagong Medical College Debating Club won the grand finale, with The Seekers of Islamic University (IU) finishing second.

The final was held online yesterday via ZOOM.
64 teams from more than 110 teams from 47 universities embarked on a thrilling and entertaining journey as they competed in the university-level marketing debate competition. After five rounds of debate, the grand finale was held. The grand finale motion was “Marketing should focus on wellbeing rather than profit to ensure business sustainability.” The debating team The Seekers of Islami University backed the motion, while the CMCDC team of Chittagong Medical College opposed it.

The grand jury panel of the grand finale included Dr. Mijanur Rahman, Professor of Marketing Department of Dhaka University, Syed Alamgir, CEO of Meghna Group of Industries (FMCG Division) and Khaled Mahmud, Associate Professor of Marketing Department of IBA.

The debate was moderated by Galib Bin Mohammed. The Grand Jury and the guest of honor, Professor Dr. Mijanur Rahman, noted in their remarks that while businesses must make a profit, they must do so while benefiting society and the nation as a whole. He explains both aspects of this motion with the theory of Better Marketing for a Better World (BMBW).

Syed Alamgir congratulated the organizer for hosting the event and praised the youth debaters’ knowledge and arguing approach. Akib Mahmood Mahi, Rafiul Islam and Ahmad Zaim Khan participated from the winning Chittagong Medical College team. Rafiul Islam, team leader of CMCDC (Chittagong Medical College) was selected as the best debater in the grand finale.

Khandaker Shamim Rahman, General Manager & Marketing Division Head of SMC Enterprise Ltd., stated that SMC has always worked for the country and the nation. As a result, SMC Enterprise is delighted to be the patron of this effort to promote marketing and business knowledge among young people through debate.

Mirza Muhammad Ileush, Founder and CEO of Brand Practitioners Bangladesh, said that the Inter-University Marketing Debate Fest was organized to spark youth interest in marketing and help develop a beautiful world through marketing. He thanked all of the sponsors, partners, judges, moderators, mentors, viewers, and attendees of the marketing debate fest 2.0.

The Inter-University Marketing Debate Fest is organized in collaboration with Strategic Partner ProthomAlo dot com, TV Partner Deepto TV, Snacks Partner Bakeman’s, MFS Partner Nagad, Ecommerce Partner Rokomari, and Knowledge Partner Practitioners Academy. According to the organizer, the interuniversity marketing debate fest 3.0 will begin soon.
