Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Bengal Commercial Bank signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank to facilitate working capital financing for Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSMEs) across the country. Under this agreement, loans from the Tk. 5,000 crore working capital refinancing fund established by Bangladesh Bank will be disbursed among the CMSME entrepreneurs at low interest rates and on easy terms.

K. M. Awlad Hossain, Managing Director of Bengal Commercial Bank and Md. Zabdul Islam, Director of the SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations recently at the Head office of Bangladesh Bank. Md. Anis Ur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

CMSME enterprises that are operational but unable to operate at full capacity due to a shortage of working capital will be eligible for financing under this fund at an interest rate of only 9%.
