Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh Abdelouahab Saidani paid a courtesy call on  Shama Obaed Islam, M.P., State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh on 09 July 2026 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and growing cooperation between Bangladesh and Algeria. The State Minister requested the Ambassador to enhance collaboration in the field of energy to ensure long term energy security of Bangladesh.

Both sides also discussed avenues to strengthen cooperation in the domain of trade, investment, pharmaceutical, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, shipbuilding and manpower etc. The State Minister  emphasized the importance of collaboration in the field of recruitment of skilled and semi-skilled manpower and welcomed the ongoing process of establishing a Joint Consultative Commission. The State Minister underscored the importance of enhancing people-to-people contacts and stressed the need for high-level visits to further deepen the partnership between the two brotherly countries.

The Ambassador reiterated to enhance collaboration in the fields of energy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding and high level visits to further deepen the existing relations between the two countries.
