120 future leaders graduate from UCBD with global credentials from Monash University

Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD) celebrated the Monash College Graduation Convocation 2025 on the evening of June 28, 2025, at the Grand Ballroom of Le Méridien Dhaka. 120 students pursuing Monash University Foundation Year and Monash College Diploma (Business, Engineering, and Information Technology) programs graduated on this day at a stunning event.
This year’s convocation marked the fourth graduation ceremony held by UCBD for the 8 th and 9 th intakes to the prestigious Monash programs. The ceremony began with a warm welcome and celebratory note by Professor Hew Gill, President of Universal College Bangladesh, who said, “With a 98% pass rate and most of our students achieving top grades, I am delighted to say that UCBD students in Dhaka achieve better results than students in Melbourne. All this evening’s graduates leave us with a world class
qualification that will enable them to transition to the best international universities. We are sad to see you go, but proud of all that you have achieved, and happy that your dreams of an international education have come true.”
UCBD is the exclusive collaborator with Monash, and all the UCBD graduates are guaranteed a place to study at Monash University, Australia, which is ranked 37 th in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
H.E. Clifton Pobke, Acting High Commissioner of Australia to Bangladesh, added, “The collaboration between UCBD and Monash is a shining example of how education has the power to bridge nations and create a lasting global impact. I wholeheartedly congratulate the graduates and feel proud to witness the journey of the future leaders and the ambassadors of the deep-rooted friendship between our two nations.”
The graduation ceremony ended with the awarding of certificates and celebration of student achievements, paving the way for their continued success in global academic institutions. The event was attended by the Chief Guest H.E. Clifton Pobke, Acting High
Commissioner of Australia to Bangladesh, representatives from schools, colleges and major commercial organisations across Bangladesh, members of the UCBD Board, Professor Hew
Gill, President of UCBD, Professor Md Ismail Hossain, Dean of Academic Affairs at UCBD, and Manas Singh, CEO, STS Group.
UCBD, the country’s first Ministry of Education-approved international education provider,
continues to provide a direct and guaranteed pathway to Monash University. The initiative has empowered Bangladeshi students to begin their higher education in Dhaka before effortlessly transitioning to Australia. The next Monash program intakes at UCBD will be in July and August.
