Dhaka, 31 October : A BAF delegation team visited Dimapur, a historical place of India on 31 October 2023, Tuesday on an invitation of Indian Air Force. This delegation of 20 members is being led by Group Captain Tanveer Marjan.
This visit will be conducted to strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation and to enhance relation between the two air forces. It is mentionable that, Bangladesh Air Force starts its journey with the formation of Kilo Flight on 28 September 1971 at Dimapur in Nagaland, India. The then Government of India gifted one Dacota, one Otter and one Alouette-III Helicopter to be used by Kilo Flight for military air operation. During the Liberation War, Bengali officers and airmen who defected from Pakistan Air Force conducted numerous successful air operations from Dimapur. These air operations helped us to expedite our path to victory. This visit of BAF delegation will play an important role for fostering the relation between these two countries.
