Fun and laughter mark the eventful night

Commemorating a night full of soulful music, incredible theatricals,
mouthwatering food and inspirational dialogues, UCB concluded its much-awaited event “UCB Night –A Celebration of New Beginnings” on November 22, 2024. Meticulously organized at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, this stunning event hosted UCB’s priority customers, stakeholders and industry partners, recognizing the support they extended to the bank over the years.
Conducted by Azra Mahmood and Quazi Sabir, the glamorous event began with a brief introduction of UCB’s legacy. With Sharif Zahir, Chairman of UCB and Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, Managing
Director & CEO of UCB in attendance, the night held a warm tête-à-tête among UCB officials and their valued customers.
This was also an event to mark the new beginning under the new leadership who come with forward-
thinking vision to transform the bank into a customer-friendly entity, as customers are the heart and soul of the banking industry. As an ode to the fearless youth of July-August 2024, a thematic mix medium theatrical directed by Saiful Jarnal was performed. The play was also an artsy depiction of UCB inspiring journey of embracing the & three zeros vision – zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero
carbon emissions – to lay the groundwork for our nation's prosperous future. Guests also enjoyed soulful
music by the very popular Arnob & Friends, Habib Wahid, and the legendary Runa Laila.
During the event, the esteemed investigative journalist, Zulkarnain Saer joined virtually and was
presented with a crest to honor his fearless reporting. Muktadir Rashid Romeo, Special Correspondent of
Bangla Outlook, received the crest on his behalf. In addition, Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, CEO of
July Shaheed Smrity Foundation, and Sarjis Alam, General Secretary of July Shaheed Smrity Foundation
were also in attendance. To recognize the efforts of the foundation, UCB presented a cheque as a token of
support and solidarity to them.
Sharif Zahir, Chairman of UCB, said on this occasion, “As you all know, UCB is going through a
transformative phase, which will usher in a new era in terms of customer-friendly digital banking
services. Our customers and our partners are our strength; we hope that our customers will keep supporting us in the days to come so that we could reach new heights in the banking sector.”
