Hafiz Machum Ahmad Dudrachaki from Sylhet : The 18th Surah of the Quran ‘Surah Kahf’. It is a very virtuous Surah, which was revealed in Makkah. Its verse number is 110. Narrated by Hazrat Anas Radiyallahu Anhu, this complete Surah was revealed together and 70 thousand angels came to the world with it. Today I will try to present some information of this Surah to you Hafiz Machum Ahmad Dudhrachaki – Surah Ashab Kahaf in the name of those young believers who hid themselves in a cave in a mountain to preserve the Deen. This Surah has been named Surah Kahf as their events are described. Three incidents of this Surah 01. The incident of those young people who sacrificed themselves to protect their faith and left their homes and took shelter in a mountain cave and after spending 309 years sleeping there, Allah Ta’ala woke them up again. 02. The events that happened between Hazrat Musa and Khizir Alaihis Salam. 03. The story of King Zulqarnain who was the king of the whole world and traveled all over the world. For these events, the Surah is as characteristic as it is full of many virtues. It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Darda Radiyallahu Anhu that whoever memorizes the first 10 verses of Surah Kahaf will be safe from Dajjal’s fitna. Another tradition from him describes the virtues mentioned in the last 10 verses. (Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and Musnad Ahmad) So whoever memorizes the first or last 10 verses or a total of 20 verses in both directions will also be included in the mentioned virtues. Hazrat Sahal Ibn Mu’adh Radiyallahu Anhu narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: He said, “Whoever recites the first and last verses of Surah Kahaf, a light will shine from his feet to his head.” And for him who recites the full Surah, there is light from the earth to the sky. (Musnad Ahmad) Virtues of reciting on Fridays Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri Radiyallahu Anhu narrates from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that whoever recites Surah Kahf on Fridays will be enlightened from one Friday to the next. Narrated by Hazrat Ali Radiyallahu Anhu from the Messenger of Allah Alaihi wa Sallam said, whoever recites Surah Kahf on Friday, he will be free from all kinds of sedition for eight days. If Dajjal comes out, he will be free from Dajjal’s fitna. According to another tradition, all his sins will be forgiven from one Friday to the next. But the sagirah sin is intended by the said sin being forgiven. Because the consensus of scholars is that poets are not forgiven unless they repent. Finally… May Allah Ta’ala grant us all the opportunity to recite Surah Kahhaf more and more and understand its meaning and learn from it and gain merit. Amen.
