Southeast Bank PLC. organized a day-long hands-on workshop on the 'Fingerprint Verification
Solution (FVS)' on October 24,2024. The workshop ended with a closing ceremony, attended by
Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC. He emphasized the
importance of using the software to prevent fake loan disbursement.
The workshop was organized at the bank’s training institute for a total of 80 officials of different
branches. As per BRPD Circular # 15/2023 of Bangladesh Bank it is now mandatory for loan
borrowers, guarantors or third parties to provide thumb impressions of both hands, along with
their signatures, when taking loans.
To comply the circular, Information Technology Division of Southeast Bank PLC. has deployed the
Fingerprint Verification Solution (FVS) for capturing thumb impression of borrowers, co-borrowers,
guarantors or third parties, verify it with the NID system of EC (Election Commission) and then
stamping thumb impression on the charge documents before disbursement of loans.
Ms. Sayma Banu, Director of Training Institute, and Mr. Kazi Md. Ehasanuzzaman, Executive Vice
President of Information Technology Division also attended the event, along with other officials of
the Bank.
