Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Six officials of the Ministry of Land and its departments/agencies received the National Integrity Award for the year 2021-22 in recognition of their ethical practices in the workplace.
Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, as the chief guest, presented certificates and crests to the awardees during a function held on Monday at the Land Ministry’s meeting room in the Secretariat. The land minister also extended his congratulations to the recipients of the Integrity Award. Land Secretary Md Khalilur Rahman was present as the chairman.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Lands Minister Saifuzzaman Chodhuri said that good governance is one of the aspects of smart land services. No matter how much we change the system, if the operators and people behind the system are not competent and honest, ultimately the objective will not be achieved. Competent and honest public servants are essential to ensure good governance.
Mentioning that the Land Ministry is a service-oriented ministry, the Land Minister said that everyone working in the Land Ministry and its subordinate departments/ agencies will have to work keeping in mind the satisfaction of the land service recipients.
The land minister directed the concerned officials to make land service week 2023 a success by informing the people about the government’s planned smart land service, raising awareness about civil rights in land service and providing applicable services in the shortest possible time frame. The minister highlighted that Land Service Week serves as an excellent opportunity to strengthen amicable relationships among land service providers, landowners, government officials, and employees involved in delivering land services.
Director of Land Administration Training Center (of Land Ministry) Md. Arif, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Land Dr. Md. Jahid Hossain Panir, PAA, Personal Officer Md Khalilur Rahman Bhuiyan, Steno Typist Md. Manzur Rahman, Office Assistant Md. Abdur Rahman and Office Assistant Md. Saddam Hossain received the integrity award for the financial year 2021-22 in their respective categories.
