Staff Reporter, Dhaka : To enhance convenience for remittance recipients, bKash has added a new feature ‘Remittance Statement’ in its app. It allows users to access their remittance record anytime they need, making financial management simple and convenient. This feature also provides added value while submitting their tax returns.
With the new update, the remittance section in the bKash app now features three tabs- Country Wise Operator, Remittance Statement and Receipts. By tapping the statement tab, customers can initiate a
request for a remittance statement. They can choose to generate statements for the last 30 days, 180 days, tax year or a customized time range based on their preference.
A customer can request a statement up to two times a day and a maximum of five times a month. Once the request is submitted, the statement will be delivered within 72 hours. A notification will be sent through the app when the statement is ready, which can then be downloaded free of charge. For customer security, the statement is password-protected.
The top section of the statement includes the recipient’s name, bKash number, recipient type, statement period, and issue date. For ease of understanding, the bottom part summarizes the total
number of remittances received and the total amount.
Additionally, like other financial records, the statement includes detailed transaction information such as the date and time of receipt, country of origin, settlement bank, money transfer organization, and the equivalent amount of remittance received. All transactions within the selected period are listed in chronological order.
It is to be mentioned that till now expatriates have sent remittances to more than 4 million bKash accounts through legal channels in the country. To make it easier for expatriates to send remittance,
bKash continues to introduce new features and services. These legally transferred remittances not only enhance the quality of life for families of expatriates but also contribute significantly to strengthening the country’s economy by boosting foreign exchange reserves.
Currently, remittances from over 140 countries are sent through 110 international money transfer operators (MTOs). They are being settled at 25 top commercial banks back home and instantly delivered to the bKash accounts of expatriates loved ones. Besides, as part of its regular efforts, bKash regularly undertakes initiatives to raise awareness among expatriates and encourage the use of legal channels for sending remittances.
