No illegal occupants will be spared : Salman F Rahman

Rahman, MP, the prime minister’s private sector and investment adviser, stated that the government will progressively take possession of all the historic buildings in the upazilas of Nawabganj and Dohar that are currently occupied illegally by others. No one will be spared, he declared, regardless of the occupier.
On Monday (January 23), he said these things while visiting the recently freed government-owned traditional building ‘Brajo Niketan’ of Nawabganj Upazila in Dhaka district from illegal occupants. This old structure, which had been occupied illegally for a long time, was freed from occupation on December 31 under the supervision and advice of this Prime Minister’s adviser. On this occasion, the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and the Director General of the Directorate of Archeology were present.
At this time, Salman F. Rahman requested the officials of the Department of Archeology to restore the house to its previous condition.
When asked what will happen to the other occupied houses, the adviser to the Prime Minister said that there are six other houses which are occupied in Nawabganj and all the house are being listed in Dohar. These historical buildings will be freed from occupation in accordance with the law. And no one can seize someone’s property by force. All government properties will be recovered gradually.
Mentioning the government property will be in the possession of the government, Salman F Rahman MP, said the country’s economic structure can be changed through the hands of tourism if the old architectures are freed from encroachment and renovated and developed as tourist hubs.
British-era Zamindar Brajan Roy built the palace named ‘Brajo Niketan’ about two hundred years ago along the banks of the Ichamati River flowing through the Kalakopa union of Nawabganj upazila. Using muscle power and political influence, Dhaka district BNP president Khandaker Abu Ashfaq’s brother retired district judge Abul Hossain, Abul Kalam Khandaker and other members of his family illegally occupied this ‘Brajo Niketan’ establishment. Currently, this historical building and property is under the possession of the government.
Following the visit, Salman F. Rahman stated that tourism can play a critical part in any country’s economic development. Tourism is a major source of revenue for many developed and developing countries. Tourism, in addition to offering job possibilities, boosts revenue and has a favorable impact on the country’s total income and output.
Salman F. Rahman inaugurated the new Shilpakala Academy building in Nawabganj upazila to the magnificent development of cultivating rich culture. As the program’s chief guest, he stated that the Shilpakala Academy is trying to establish national culture and art, preserve and promote cultural legacy, and generate a flow of art culture for all people in order to create a humane Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Md. Abul Mansur, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, and Adviser Salman F. Rahman welcomed this great initiative, saying that if the country’s tourist spots can be made more appealing to tourists by taking timely and planned steps, a new horizon will open in Bangladesh’s tourism industry. After the legal process they will preserve the history and heritage of the house.
In addition, as the chief guest, Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Sheikh Kamal visited the inter-school and inter-madrasa athletics competitions in Nawabganj and Doha upazila and handed prizes to the winners.
He believes that athletics are necessary for keeping the body healthy, energetic, and vital. A healthy body provides power and a solid foundation for the intellect, allowing people to continue forward in life’s conflict.
Later, he distributed winter clothing and medical supplies to Dohar Upazila’s beneficiaries.
