Land Secretary pays homage to Father of the Nation

Staff Reporter, Dhaka : The newly appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Land, Md. Khalilur Rahman, paid homage to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at his mausoleum in Tungipara, Gopalganj, on Monday, April 3. He placed wreaths at the tomb and recited the holy Fateha.

Following that, he participated in prayers for the souls of Bangabandhu and the martyrs of August 15, 1975. Special prayers were offered for the success, good health, and longevity of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu’s daughter. Later he took a moment to pen his thoughts in the visitors’ book, leaving a comment and signature.

Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Kazi Mahbubul Alam, Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Al-Mamun, Vice-President of Upazila Awami League Ilias Hossain and Senior officials of the Land Ministry were present at the event.

Yesterday, the newly appointed Land Secretary, Md. Khalilur Rahman, officially joined the Land Ministry. He was welcomed by the outgoing Land Secretary, Md. Mustafizur Rahman PAA. Following that, he attended an introductory meeting with officials of all levels in the conference room of the Ministry of Land. At noon, the Land Secretary paid tribute to the portrait of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, located at 32 Dhanmondi in the capital.

He expressed deep respect for the Father of the Nation, his family, and all the martyrs and heroic freedom fighters of the historic struggle for national liberation. The Land Secretary prayed for the forgiveness of their souls and the all-round well-being of their families.
