Mr. Islam brings with him nearly two decades of distinguished leadership across a diverse range of roles in both multinational and domestic financial institutions. His extensive expertise spans retail banking, product innovation, customer experience, and operational excellence – making him a formidable force in Bangladesh’s financial services landscape.
Mr. Islam’s most recent role was at BRAC Bank PLC., where he served as Head of Retail Lending. During his four-and-a-half-year tenure at BRAC Bank PLC., he led strategic growth initiatives and managed one of the country’s most significant retail loan portfolios. Prior to that, he held pivotal leadership roles at United Commercial Bank PLC. & Standard Chartered Bank for almost fifteen years, overseeing Retail Products, Branch Banking and Employee Banking etc.
Throughout his career, Mr. Islam has demonstrated an exceptional ability to drive growth through portfolio analytics, process optimization, and innovation-led product strategy. Notably, he has overseen the management of Bangladesh’s largest retail lending book, a reflection of his capacity to lead complex, large-scale operations with precision and agility.
