Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Smartphones are no longer just for gaming or taking selfies; a smartphone with a better camera and processor can now create jobs, according to National Geographic featured photojournalist K M Asad, who was invited by Infinix in a mobile photography workshop to share his valuable experience with the Infinix Note12 Pro Users.
K M Asad presented his international award-winning works and photos taken by this phone in the workshop. This internationally known Bangladeshi photographer has some remarkable work on several humanitarian and environmental crises, including the Rohingyas. His works have been published by several famous media outlets, including the BBC, CNN, The Guardian, The New York Times, and The Telegraph. In 2019, Asad’s photo was featured as the cover photo of National Geographic. He was awarded in the environment category by World Press Photo in 2021.
Infinix, a smartphone brand that aims to empower youths with smart devices, organized the mobile photography workshop, which trained 25 mobile photography enthusiasts from a pool of 1,214 who registered. Using the newly released Infinix Note 12 Pro, Bangladeshi documentary photographer K M Asad led the session.
In the workshop, Asad emphasized that besides knowing about basic photography, the quality of the camera, image sensor, and processor of the device is also very essential for smoother photography, videography, and editing. He added, “In today’s fast-paced world, mobile journalists, reporters, photographers, and youtubers do the majority of their work on mobile phones. If they feel lag in their phone while working or the device gets slow, that certainly affects their production.’’ Asad admired the combination offered by the Note 12 Pro for better performance.
The Infinix Note 12 Pro is a mid-range smartphone with a Helio G99 processor, 256GB ROM+ up to 13GB of Extended RAM, a 108MP ultra-clear triple camera, and a 6.7” FHD+ true color AMOLED display.
The participants of the workshop praised this initiative of Infinix as they learned key technical terms like depth of field, aperture, ISO, exposure, shutter speed etc. and the process of mobile photography from a professional. “I knew about the importance of framing and lighting in photography, but through this workshop, I have come to know how to use them efficiently for better photography,” said a participant.
