HBL Bangladesh Observes National Mourning Day 2023

Staff Reporter, Dhaka : HBL Bangladesh organized various programs on the occasion of the 48th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.

On Tuesday (15 August), the Bank’s Country Manager Selim Barkat along with senior officials paid homage to the Father of the Nation.

As part of observing the Mourning Day, the bank employees performed various activities such as wearing black badges for the whole month, keeping the national flag at half-mast in front of the office building, arranged a dua mahfil and distributing food among the underprivileged students of the Abinta Kabir Foundation School.

HBL has additionally scheduled a tree-plantation program in Dhaka and urges everyone to plant tree for a greener Bangladesh. Furthermore, a discussion session has been planned which will include recitations from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s book “The Unfinished Memoirs” (অসমাপ্ত আত্মজীবনী) followed by a documentary on his life and a dua mahfil.

HBL Bangladesh remains dedicated to upholding the legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and extends an invitation to all customers and stakeholders to join in observing National Mourning Day.
