Staff Reporter, Dhaka : BRAC Bank will extend financial assistance to Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University in Dinajpur to set up an advanced agriculture research facilities.
Under a special agriculture focused CSR project, a new research unit styled ‘Cell and Tissue Culture Unit’ will be created in the central laboratory of the university. The facility will create scope for microscopic investigations in the central lab and speed up the analysis of genomic data of plants and crops. This facility will help the graduating students in advanced genomic research, ultimately assisting in agriculture production.
Md. Sabbir Hossain, Deputy Managing Director & COO, BRAC Bank, and, Dr. Md. Saifur Rahman, Registrar, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, signed the agreement at a ceremony at the bank’s head office on July 6, 2023.
Ekram Kabir, Head of Communications; Tapos Kumar Roy, Head of MFI and Agriculture Finance, BRAC Bank; and Dr. Md. Yeasin Prodhan, Molecular Biology Unit In-charge; and Prof. Dr. ATM Shafiqul Islam, Director, Planning, Development and Works, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University; and senior officials of the two organisations were present.
