BRAC Bank inaugurates a library, discusses Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Opekkha’

Staff Reporter, Dhaka : BRAC Bank has inaugurated a new library at its annexed head office, marking a significant step towards fostering a culture of reading among its co-workers.

This initiative aligns with the bank’s commitment to nurturing a continuous learning and development culture and fostering intellectual enrichment.

The newly established library at Sepal Tower, a serene space filled with books of various genres, reflects BRAC Bank’s dedication to nurturing the creative minds of its people. The bank believes that reading enhances knowledge and advances creativity and innovation among people.

To celebrate the occasion, the BRAC Bank Reading Café hosted a discussion on ‘Opekkha’, a famous novel by renowned writer Humayun Ahmed. The participants delved into the novel’s intricate portrayal of middle-class life in Bangladesh.

Members of the Reading Café shared their thoughts on the characters’ struggles and aspirations and the profound love that transcends societal challenges. They praised Humayun Ahmed’s storytelling for its resonance with readers, making it a timeless piece of literature. The discussion provided an engaging platform for co-workers to share their perspectives on the themes of love, resilience, and hope explored in the book.
