Staff Reporter, Dhaka : The 6th Showcase Malaysia 2023 concludes with a series of seminars on contemporary issues. After the overwhelming success of BMCCI’s past showcase events, Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the 6th Showcase Malaysia 2023 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
H.E High Commissioner of Malaysia Haznah Md Hashim expressed her heartiest pleasure to the successful completion of the whole event. She thanked BMCCI management and other stakeholders who involved with event as a whole.
The program is supported by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (DPMM), the Malaysia South-South Association (MASSA), Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA), the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia, and the High Commission of Malaysia in Bangladesh.
The 6th Showcase Malaysia emphasized a number of Seminars on contemporary issues, the BMCCI Business Excellence Awards, the modest fashion Show, and the Grand Gala Night including Showcasing Malaysian products and services.

Plenary Session on Trade and Business Opportunities, titled Deepening Bangladesh and Malaysia’s Economic Relationship: Role of a Trade Agreement, Date: 5th September 2023 Time: 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
The seminar’s aim is to discover the untapped potential of the economic relationship between Bangladesh and Malaysia at the Plenary Session on the 6th Showcase Malaysia. This session will shed light on the current economic ties between the two nations and explore how a trade agreement can unlock new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
The session also focuses on the existing trade patterns, investment flows, and bilateral engagements between Bangladesh and Malaysia. Through insightful presentations and panel discussions, industry experts, policymakers, and business leaders will highlight the mutual benefits of a trade agreement, including enhanced market access, increased trade volumes, and strengthened economic cooperation.
The sessions chaired by Her Excellency Haznah Md Hashim, High Commissioner of Malaysia and moderated by Dr. M Masrur Reaz, Chairman & CEO, Policy Exchange Bangladesh.
Seminar on Healthcare, titled Leveraging Malaysia’s Advanced Healthcare Services, Date: 6th September 2023 Time: 9:30 AM-11:00 AM
The aim of the seminar is for leveraging the Malaysian healthcare industry to the Bangladeshi business community and patient group. Where former CEO of MHTC and Director of Healthcare Transformation- Vmarsh Healthcare presented the Keynote to the presence. The audience are very much interactive to the session and get to know with the Malaysian healthcare.
Seminar on Halal Industry, Global Halal Industry: Mutual Opportunities for Bangladesh and Malaysia, 6th September 2023 Time: 11:30 AM-1:00 PM
Halal industry is now booming industry and has a number of possibility for Bangladesh to becoming a new HALAL hub. The seminar shed light on different possibilities on Halal industry. The Halal industry in Bangladesh has significant potential for growth and development, particularly in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and tourism sectors. With a large Muslim population and strategic location, Bangladesh is an ideal gateway to the South Asian market. The government has taken several initiatives to promote the growth of the halal industry, including the establishment of Halal Certification Bodies and a Halal Certification Agency. With continued support and initiatives, the halal industry in Bangladesh can become a significant contributor to the country’s economy and provide employment opportunities for Bangladeshi citizens.

Seminar on Knowledge & Skills, SUPERSKILLS: Enhancing Employability, Productivity, and Growth, Date: 6th September 2023 Time: 2:00 PM-3:30 PM
The aim of the seminar is to develop human resources merging general education with science and technology-based training to produce skilled and morally upright individuals. Participants also get to know about how STEM education has played a crucial role in creating a highly competent and knowledgeable workforce in Malaysia. Through the emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics i.e. STEM education has provided individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in a variety of industries. This has not only helped Malaysia remain competitive in the global market but has also contributed to the country’s overall development. This Seminar on Knowledge and Skill at 6th Showcase Malaysia 2023 presents a chance for Education experts from both nations to connect and collaborate, resulting in skill enhancement. Professor Dato’ Ir Dr. Mohd Saleh Jaafar, Pro VC of UCSI University- Bangladesh Campus presented the keynote speech on the title.
Seminar based on Technology titled Digital Economy Frontier: Emerging Prospects Through Bangladesh and Malaysia Collaboration, Date: 6th September 2023 Time: 4:00 PM-5:30 PM.
The seminar sheds light on Malaysian tech-based industry that has seen significant growth and success in recent years. Malaysia’s success in the field of technology and digital economy can provide valuable insights and lessons for us. Bangladesh can accumulate the experience of Malaysia in these areas and explore ways to apply similar solutions to its own challenges.
The session is chaired by BMCCI President Syed Almas Kabir and keynote speech presented by Sami Ahmed, Managing Director, Startup Bangladesh Limited.
