Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Department of Occupational and Environmental Health of Bangladesh University of Health Sciences organized a colorful rally with the participation of teachers and
students on the occasion of “World Occupational Health and Safety Day-2025”.
The rally was led by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) of the university, Professor Dr. Sheikh Akhtar Ahmed. He was accompanied by the Registrar of the university, Professor Dr.
Zahid Hasan, Head of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health, Professor Dr.
M H Faruquee, Lecturer Sarmin Sultana, Safety Analyst Ali Kamal Mostafa Rubel. The teachers gave a directional speech to the pedestrians highlighting the importance of occupational health
and safety at the end of the rally. They urged them to be aware of the potential risks in the workplace and emphasized on taking steps to avoid risks. The theme of this year’s observance is:
“Revolutionizing health and safety: the role of AI and digitalization at work”. Focusing on this theme, students from the Department of Occupational Health and Safety — including Azizul Hoque Mozumder, Shafin Rahman Mahi, Monira Monorama, Khadiza Tul Bushra, Sudipta Kumar Mondal, Fahmida Hossain Eshika, and Jamil Hassan Ifty — took part in the rally with awareness placards to educate the public about occupational hazards.
