73rd Anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution Celebrated:

Staff Reporter, Dhaka : Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, extended a warm invitation to Egyptian entrepreneurs and investors to explore promising opportunities in Bangladesh’s infrastructure, energy, tourism, and hospitality sectors.

She made the call while delivering the keynote speech as chief guest at a reception marking the 73rd Anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution. The event, held at a hotel in the capital, brought together the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, academics, and civil society representatives.

Advisor Rizwana congratulated the Egyptian people and government on their National Day, conveying greetings on behalf of the Government and people of Bangladesh. She emphasized the long-standing and historic ties between Bangladesh and Egypt, rooted in shared culture, faith, and mutual respect.

Reflecting on her personal visit to Egypt, she described her deep admiration for the country’s rich heritage, iconic museums, and the timeless Nile River. “Every Egyptian has every reason to be proud of their rich history and cultural legacy,” she noted.

The Advisor highlighted the growing bilateral cooperation in sectors such as trade, education, agriculture, energy, and investment. She welcomed the establishment of direct air connectivity between Bangladesh and Egypt as a meaningful step toward strengthening people-to-people ties.

Speaking on Bangladesh’s own democratic journey, Rizwana referred to the July-August Uprising of 2025, which she said has ushered in a renewed national dialogue centered on equality, justice, dignity, and a society free from discrimination.

She also acknowledged Egypt’s continued engagement in deepening ties, appreciating recent developments such as the Foreign Office Consultations held in February 2025 and the visit of Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Advisor to Cairo in December 2024.

She expressed gratitude for the scholarships offered by Egypt to Bangladeshi students and reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to collaborate with Egypt on regional and global platforms like the United Nations and the OIC.
“May the people of Egypt continue to thrive in peace, progress, and prosperity,” she concluded.

Syed Refaat Ahmed, Chief Justice of Bangladesh and Omar Mohie Eldin Ahmed Fahmy, Ambassador of Egypt to Bangladesh also spoke in the occasion. Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Representatives of International Organizations also present in the occasion.
