Staff Reporter, Dhaka : 2 lakh 10 thousand members of PAGE Development Centre, a leading microfinance institution (MFIs) in Bangladesh, can now pay their instalments of savings and loan schemes through the convenient, fast and secured ‘Microfinance’ payment option in bKash app. In this regards, PAGE Development Centre signed an agreement with bKash. With this addition, now nearly 25 million members of 64 MFIs can seamlessly use bKash to easily pay their loan instalments and deposit savings.
The signing ceremony was held recently at bKash Head office where senior officials of both the organisations were present. Among them bKash’s Chief Commercial Officer Ali Ahmmed, Business Sales Head of Department Masrur Chowdhury, Microfinance Payment
VP Tariqul Islam and PAGE Development Centre’s Executive Director MD Yunus, Directors MD Mujibur Rahman, MD AWM Wahiduzzaman, Abdur Rauf Bhuiya were present.
PAGE Development Centre operates through 162 branches across the country, serving over 210,000 members, many of whom live in remote or rural areas. bKash’s ‘microfinance’ services will allow these members to make financial transactions more easily, safely, and efficiently—without having to visit MFI branches physically or carry cash.
This partnership will also help PAGE Development Centre reduce operational workload, speed up collection processes, and improve transparency in their financial services. For bKash, this collaboration further expands its reach in the microfinance sector and strengthens its goal of promoting digital financial inclusion across the country.
